The report informs about the most significant political and legislative developments, as well as public debates, in the fields of migration and asylum which occurred in the EU, its Member States and Norway during the year 2015, with the focus on third-country nationals rather than EU nationals. It also contains relevant statistical data. The report for the Slovak Republic describes national developments and put them in the context of the EU policies and legislation.

Výročná správa informuje o najdôležitejších zmenách a vývoji v oblasti legislatívy a politík, ako aj o verejných diskusiách na tému migrácie a azylu, ktoré sa uskutočnili v EÚ, členských štátoch a Nórsku v roku 2015. Správa tiež obsahuje relevantné štatistické údaje, pričom sa zameriava na štátnych príslušníkov tretích krajín, nie na občanov EÚ. Správa za Slovenskú republiku popisuje zmeny na národnej úrovni a dáva ich do kontextu politík a legislatívy EÚ.

This focused study examines and compares the different legal frameworks, procedures and practices in the EU Member States to enable third-country nationals to change migration status, as well as the conditions associated with such changes.

The aim of the study is also to inform about the scope of rights that the applicant acquires after this change in comparison with the previous status and to analyse the motivations of the EU Member States to allow these changes. The study also looks at existing obstacles, good practice and lessons learnt.

Táto malá tematická štúdia EMN skúma a porovnáva rozdielne legislatívne rámce, postupy a prax členských štátov EÚ, umožňujúce štátnym príslušníkom tretích krajín zmeniť svoj migračný status, ako aj podmienky spojené s týmito zmenami. Cieľom štúdie je tiež informovať o rozsahu práv, ktoré žiadateľ získa pri zmene pobytu v porovnaní s predchádzajúcim statusom ako aj zanalyzovať motivácie členských štátov EÚ povoliť takéto zmeny statusu. Štúdia sa zameriava aj na existujúce prekážky, dobrú prax a skúsenosti štátov v tejto oblasti.

This EMN Inform summarises the key findings of the EMN Study on the changes in immigration status within the framework of various legislation in different EU Member States. It highlights the changes in purpose of stay and the main factors influencing Member States' admission of the change. Inform includes also the main challenges Member States face in this regards, identifies good practices and lessons learnt as well as analyses the effectiveness, impact and perception of national change of status policies.

Tento inform EMN obsahuje hlavné zistenia zo súhrnnej správy EMN o zmenách v imigračnom statuse v podmienkach legislatív rôznych členských štátov EÚ. Poukazuje na zmeny v účele pobytu a na hlavné dôvody ovplyvňujúce povolenie zmeny statusu zo strany členských štátov. Inform zahŕňa aj hlavné výzvy, ktorým čelia členské štáty v tejto oblasti, identifikuje dobrú prax a skúsenosti a analyzuje efektivitu, vplyv a vnímanie národných politík v kontexte zmeny statusu.
