On December 10, 2014, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia organized a conference on Protection and Care for Unaccompanied Children which was held under the auspices of the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic Ján Richter. Apart from national experts, the conference hosted speakers from Budapest, Dublin, Prague and Vienna who introduced service development and current model of care for unaccompanied minors, determination of the best interest of the child, individual risk assessment, age assessment and prevention of disappearance.

On October 14 – 15, 2014, IOM Bratislava as the coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia organized together with the Bureau of the Border and Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium (BBAP PFP) a small scale meeting in Kremnica for representatives of selected stakeholders operating in the area of legal migration. The meeting was attended by representatives of BBAP PFP, offices of labour, social affairs and family, Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic and IOM Migration Information Centre.

On 27 November 2014, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia organised a presentation visit in Krupina for stakeholders operating in the field of integration of persons with granted international protection.

On November 3 2014, International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a coordinator of EMN activities in Slovakia organised working breakfast on the upcoming EMN focussed study titled Admitting third-country nationals on business purposes. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Alien Police of the Police Force Presidium, Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and Slovak Investment and Trade Agency (SARIO).

On October 24 2014, EMN National Contact Point (NCP) in Germany organised the international conference with the title Unaccompanied Minors - Between Refugee Experience, Youth Welfare, and Residence Law. The event was held in Nuremberg and was attended by two Slovak EMN NCP representatives.
