15 Years of Impact: EMN celebrated a milestone, showcasing the most influential contributions and achievements from 2018 to 2022

The European Migration Network (EMN), marked a significant milestone, celebrating 15 years of dedicated service providing objective, comparable, and policy-relevant information on emerging issues related to asylum and migration.

In honour of the 15-anniversary, EMN is presenting you a document spotlighting its most influential achievements and contributions from 2018 to 2022, which contributed, for example, to the creation of policies, legislation, exchange of expertise, or best practices in the field of migration at both the EU and Member State level. The EMN stands ready to continue in these efforts and thus contribute to addressing the comprehensive challenges and opportunities related to migration and asylum.

What is EMN?

EMN is a European Union body established by Council Decision 2008/381/EC that serves to meet the information needs of Union institutions and of EU Member States' authorities and institutions, by providing up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum, with a view to supporting policy-making in the European Union in these areas.

The EMN consists of National Contact Points (NCPs) in the EMN Member (EU Member States except Denmark) and Observer Countries (Norway, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Montenegro, Armenia, Serbia), the European Commission and supported by the EMN Service Provider (ICF).

What does EMN do?

Main EMN activities include elaboration of publications and ad hoc queries. It also organizes expert meetings and it cooperates on specific migration topics within expert groups. With its activities it contributes to awareness raising and education on migration among public. These activities are carried out at the national level by the NCPs or at the European level by the European Commission and NCPs in cooperation with the EMN service provider.
