The report describes and clarifies the statistical and development trends in the field of migration and international protection in the EU and its Member States in 2004 compared to the previous period. The Slovak Republic did not contribute to this report.
This EMN inform contains information collected through an ad-hoc question on safe countries of origin. It presents an overview of (Member) States policies and practices concerning safe countries of origin. It describes which countries have introduced a list of safe countries of origin and whether nationals from these countries are treated differently than nationals from other countries in the asylum procedure. Moreover, differences relating to reception conditions and return provisions are examined.
This EMN inform summarizes the key findings of the EMN Synthesis report on the effectiveness of returns in the EU. It provides an overview of the impact of EU rules on return and related case law from the Court of Justice of the European Union – on Member States’ return policies and practices and hence on the effectiveness of return decisions issued across the EU. It also outlines the challenges encountered by Member States in effectively implementing returns, as well as identify any good practices developed to ensure the enforcement of return obligations.
The Return of Rejected Asylum Seekers: Challenges and Good Practices (2016)
This EMN Inform summarises the key findings of the EMN Synthesis Report on returning the rejected asylum seekers, analyses the differences in between the return procedures of respective EU Member States and specific challenges these countries face when returning the rejected asylum seekers. Inform also provides an overview of the national policies of EU Member States in the field of return as well as of legal frameworks. It briefly describes situations when return of third-country nationals is not immediately possible, practices adopted by each EU Member States to address these situations, as well as measures these countries are implementing to encourage rejected asylum seekers to leave the EU territory.
Dissemination of information on voluntary return: How to reach irregular migrants not in contact with the authorities (2015)
This EMN Inform presents the main findings from the EMN synthesis report on different approaches employed in the EU Member States and Norway to ensure that irregular migrants are informed of options for return, including voluntary and assisted voluntary return. It identifies the main challenges faced by Member States, provides information on national approaches involving migration and asylum authorities, other public authorities and other actors, describes the role of various involved actors, provides details about the tools used as well as the evaluation of the effectiveness of these tools.
Overview: Incentives to Return to a Third-Country and Support Provided to Migrants for their Reintegration (2014)
This EMN Inform provides an overview of 96 programmes implemented by EU Member States and Norway to support return and reintegration. It includes a description of sponsors, actors implementing the programmes and beneficiaries of incentives, characteristics of various forms of incentives and brief summary of challenges which Member States face during implementation of the programmes. The information contained in the Inform was collected via EMN Return Expert Group (REG).
